Earlier today I stumbled across an old poem from when we were in FL earlier this month. It was in the morning, I was half-asleep, and it just hit me out of nowhere; I had the whole thing formed. But it took me like another 20 minutes to get up off my lazy ass and grab a notebook, and I know it changed a lot in that time. I have a suspicion it was better before that. So, here it is:
I walk these streets alone; The streets of having nowhere to belong, Having no one to go home to; Having nothing but yourself And nothing but your thoughts.
Shadow play and shadow stay, These streets are still my home. Shadow play and shadow stay, I cannot leave just yet.
The black cat passes me alone; I watch it pass and still walk on. This black cat is like a friend; A friend I've known so long.
Shadow play and shadow stay, These streets, they're all I've got. Shadow play and shadow stay, I'm afraid to let them go.
I wander these streets and finally see The beauty in my lonely life; For a beautiful life it is And good things it has to offer.
Shadow play and shadow stay, These streets, they are my home. Shadow play and shadow stay, I do not wish to leave just yet.

TEE HEE! See, this one's one of my longer, multiple-versed ones. A lot of them are shorter and I don't bother to seperate them into different verses.
