I am about to kill my labtop. It keeps freaking outand shutting off. Its not a virus, and its not over heating.

I've never had a laptop, though I've been meaning to save some money and buy a PowerBook before Apple makes the switch to Intel. And as far as it freaking out and shutting off without overheating or being infected by a virus... *thinks* Well... are your files all right? When it does work, do your files open and work properly? How long have you had it? What operating system (e.g. Windows, Mac OS) are you running and what version of it? Have you upgraded recently? How much RAM does your computer have? (To find the RAM on Windows XP, go to control panel > Performance and Maintenance > See basic information about your computer, and on Mac OS X, it's Apple menu > About this Mac. Not sure about Linux/Unix, or older versions of Mac or Windows.)

Oh, wow, thanks, that helps a ton. I checked the files and they work fine, but i just recently downloaded a large amount of data onto it. The stuff i downloaded from a different pc is free of viruses, but i deleted some of it and my labtop is wrkin better. Thanks again
